Design notes

  • Serviceberry species and hybrids are often mislabelled in the trade; buy by habit (multi-stem suckering shrub) as much as by name.
  • Rust and leaf spot are cosmetic; give air movement.
  • Remove suckers if a tidy clump is wanted.

Regions

Native range: Atlantic Coastal Plain and Piedmont from eastern Canada to Georgia and Alabama.

Native to these OpenLandscape3D pilot regions:

Native status describes where the species occurs naturally. It is not a promise that it suits a particular garden; site conditions decide that.
