For landscape designers

Compose, validate and present planting plans from one model

OpenLandscape3D is built around the questions clients ask — what will it look like in winter, how long until it screens the neighbours — and the checks a careful designer runs anyway.

Design with data you can defend

Every plant fact carries a source, retrieval date and review state. Design checks have stable rule ids (OL-HARDY, OL-OVERLAP, OL-CLEARANCE …) and every override is recorded with a note — useful when a client chooses a risk knowingly.

Present time, not just space

Show the same design in April and October, at install and at year ten. Save alternatives and walk the client through them. Export the design to OpenPlan3D to review the garden with the house.

Deliverables

  • Plant schedule with codes, quantities, install sizes, spacing and mature sizes.
  • Seasonal task calendar for the installer and the owner.
  • Open project file other tools can read — see the export format.

Where it’s still early

Construction documents, grading and cut-fill, irrigation design and proposal templates are on the roadmap, not in the product. If those are your bottleneck, keep them in your current toolset and use OpenLandscape3D for planting design and client communication.

Questions

Can I use it with my CAD workflow?

Today the exchange format is the OpenPlan3D JSON file and CSV schedules. DXF/DWG exchange is on the roadmap.

Can my team work on shared projects?

Not yet. Team workspaces are on the roadmap. Join the pilot to help shape them.
