Dense, gray-green native shrub that makes a tidy natural or lightly clipped hedge with no supplemental water once established.
Size over time
Typical landscape size 1.2–2.4 m (4–8 ft) tall and 1.2–2.4 m (4–8 ft) wide; slow growth, about 10 years to maturity. Intermediate sizes use the planner’s growth curve (k = 0.12) from the #3 install size.
Design notes
- Male and female plants; only females set nuts.
- Frost-sensitive when young in colder low-desert sites.
