Diervilla lonicera Mill.
Also called northern bush honeysuckle, dwarf bush honeysuckle.
Small suckering native shrub with yellow summer flowers and bronze fall colour. Handles dry shade and banks; a native substitute for barberry in low hedges.
Size over time
Typical landscape size 0.6–1 m (2–3 ft) tall and 0.9–1.2 m (3–4 ft) wide; medium growth, about 6 years to maturity. Intermediate sizes use the planner’s growth curve (k = 0.25) from the #3 install size.
