Blue false indigo
Baptisia australis (L.) R.Br.
Also called blue false indigo, blue wild indigo.
Long-lived, shrub-sized native perennial with indigo pea flowers in late spring and blue-green foliage all season.
Size over time
Typical landscape size 0.9–1.2 m (3–4 ft) tall and 0.9–1.2 m (3–4 ft) wide; slow growth, about 4 years to maturity. Intermediate sizes use the planner’s growth curve (k = 0.12) from the #1 install size.
