Typical landscape size 3–6 m (10–20 ft) tall and 3–6 m (10–20 ft) wide; fast growth, about 3 years to maturity. Intermediate sizes use the planner’s growth curve (k = 0.45) from the #3 install size.

Design notes
- Frost burns it back below about −2 °C; it usually regrows from the base.
- Blooms best when slightly dry and not overfertilized; sharp thorns.
