Salvia rosmarinus Spenn.
Also called rosemary. Synonyms: Rosmarinus officinalis.
Aromatic evergreen herb-shrub with needle-like leaves and blue winter-to-spring flowers. Upright forms make low hedges; trailing forms spill over walls.
Size over time
Typical landscape size 0.6–1.5 m (2–5 ft) tall and 0.6–1.5 m (2–5 ft) wide; medium growth, about 6 years to maturity. Intermediate sizes use the planner’s growth curve (k = 0.25) from the #3 install size.

Pale blue flowers, Jan–Apr (northern-hemisphere months; timing shifts with region and season).

Design notes
- Root rot in heavy, wet soils — plant on raised or gravelly beds.
- Some cultivars (e.g. 'Arp') are hardier, to zone 7.

Native range: Mediterranean.
Not recorded as native to any of the three pilot regions.
