Lavandula × intermedia‘Phenomenal’
Also called lavandin.
Silvery evergreen subshrub with fragrant lavender spikes in early summer. Selected for tolerance of both cold winters and humid summers.
Size over time
Typical landscape size 0.6–0.9 m (2–3 ft) tall and 0.6–0.9 m (2–3 ft) wide; medium growth, about 3 years to maturity. Intermediate sizes use the planner’s growth curve (k = 0.25) from the #1 install size.

Design notes
- Needs sharp drainage and lean soil; root rot in wet clay.
- Cut back by a third after bloom, never into bare old wood.

Native range: Garden hybrid.
Not recorded as native to any of the three pilot regions.
