Also called aloe vera, medicinal aloe. Synonyms: Aloe barbadensis.
Clump-forming aloe with fleshy, gray-green leaves and yellow flower spikes in late winter. Spreads by offsets into colonies.
Size over time
Typical landscape size 0.5–0.6 m (1–2 ft) tall and 0.5–0.6 m (1–2 ft) wide; fast growth, about 3 years to maturity. Intermediate sizes use the planner’s growth curve (k = 0.45) from the #5 install size.

- Light afternoon shade in the low desert; leaves redden under stress.

Native range: Arabian Peninsula (cultivated origin).
Not recorded as native to any of the three pilot regions.
